A Little more

Last night was spent going over my notes and trying to figure out who I wanted to go back and visit. I have about a half a morning of work and then we are going to do a little site seeing. We are going to go to Frank Lloyd Wrights winter home and maybe a couple of other places.

In the mean time here are a few more teasures that I found.

Threadworx has come out with new colors of OD Floss and OD Kreinik. Nice deep rich colors.

JP designs has these 2 great Dragonflies on 18 ct. black canvas, So dramatic. I know, you are saying to yourself or any one that will listen, 18ct. black is she nuts. Well yes, but that is beside the point. A darning patern with a metallic would be awesome. My other favorite from her was this magnificent Japanese Fighting Fish. Beautiful. The Dragonflies are $97.00 and the fish is $166.00, All 3 are on 18.

I almost forgot about Amanda Lawfords new Santa for this year. He is a wonderful Woodland Santa. He is avaiable 30 inches tall on 13 or 18 for $533,00, 20 inches tall on 18 for $341.00 or 15 inches tall on 18 for $226.00

I am not sure when my obsession with Owls is going to end but if they don't stop designing cute owl canvas it won't be any time soon. Patti Mann has a couple of cute new ornament size.

Patti also did a great new Angels Stocking that is fun and bright.

The gal from Pischke Pockets has a couple of new designs as well as 3 pillows. A very fast stitch because they are on big canvas. Kit includes everything put the pillow form which is just a bed pillow. Love them all, so they are all coming to the store. $207..00

June McKnight has a new book on stitching with Bling. We all know that June's books are great so this one will not disappoint. $52.00. It is in color.

New from Little Shoppe are these adorable 3-d Kisses.

Kelly Clark has a new club starting in April and it is Treemendous. Treemendoes Trees are here, There are 12 in the series and will come with a guide, They are $51.00. Threads are additional and they will share a good bit. These are just a few of them. They will be so much fun on a mantle.

These witches are also adorable and will be available with a guide in the next several months.

Absolutely stunning

is all I have to say about the Floral rug. It is 36x54 on 13ct. canvas, The colors are magnificent and the flowers just jump off the canvas. ($1400.00)

Lani also had a great Gourmet Collage that is 16x16 on 13ct. ($334.00) and her little Geisha Dolls are just adorable. They are 11" tall and $152.00 on 18ct.

Shelly has some great little "Day of the Dead" ornaments and a wonderful Santa with Packages that will will have stitch guide. Music to my ears. I love the finishing. Her new ornament stocking is also great and will be great fun to dress up with beads.

Day 1 is over

and I am exhausted.

So I was half way through the blog and the wi-fi locked out and I lost my hole post, So here we go again.

I am going to condense a bit because I need to do some work for tomorrow.

My first stop is always Melissa Shirley and she did not disappoint. She has a new 2 sided Classic Santa and he is geat, I just love the new "Cottage Stockings" and I could not make up my mide so I ordered all 4.

Her new 20x20 for this show is a beautifil "Quail". I ordered is on 18.

I was thrilled to see Liz Dillon from Tapestry Tent fame on the show floor. It has been at least 5 years since she has been to a show and it was just wonderful to see her again. Welcome back Liz. She has some great stockings that will sure become classics,

Ashley Dillon (Liz's daughter) is an artist in her own right and she has added 2 new designs to the Holidays Parade series.


Tapestry Fair has these great Day of the Dead Ladies. They are so colorful.

Clara Wells has a great new little purse. Love it.

Hello from Phoenix

Well it is the night before Market and I am settled in for the evening after spending the morning helping Kelly Clark set up her boothe for the show and taking a class from Ruth Dilts and Joan Lohr in the afternoon.

I have never taken a class from them before and it was so enjoyable, I will definately to it again at the next show. The class was a great canvas from "A Colletion of Designs" called "If the shoe fits".  I did not have my camera with me to get a picture of the finished model but here is a picture of the canvas.

The night before the show starts they have a little shopping extraviganza that they call " Sample-it". Some of the Artist set up booths and get to sell a little sampling of what we have to look forward to at the show.

Dinky Dyes has new colors of silk and silk ribbon.

Debbie from Painted Pony has a cute new series called "Dress for Success".

Kreinik has 4 new colors of size 8 metallic. LOVE THEM!

Happy New Year a little late

I have been wanted to post to the blog all week and finally have a moment to do so.

I am taking a little break from stitching the "April Angel" before the LSU vs. Alabama football game starts. I have been working on her most of the afternoon after running errands this morning.

One stop was the bead shop for some 3mm bicones for her hair. I love the bling. I also stopped by Michaels and picked up some gliiter. I have an idea for the eggs in her basket. We will see if it works.

I finished the "March Angel" before the Christmas holidays.

THE NEEDLE WORKS ANNUAL SALE STARTS DECEMBER 1ST

FLEAS NAVIDAD.....

For the needlepointing pet lover, which I think we all are, Carol just delivered these great new Snap Trays. Puppies and kitties dressed for the holidays fabric on the outside with either green or red lining and "FLEAS NAVIDAD" embroidered on the inside. She also broight by some new frame weights  that say "Dear Santa, I have been knotty and nice" We  got a limited number  of these so don't hesutate to call the store to order.  (512-451-6931)

I haven't had a chance to post since I got home from our girls weekend in Memphis. We all had a great time. I gave Amy one of Leigh Designs cat faces that have been around for awhile but I wanted something small and not detailed. I managed to get just abut everything done. I just have a little stitching, couching of some memory thread and some beading to do. I am not going to do the background because I am going to have it finished on a stitck with a fun base.

I got my angels back from the new finisher I am using and am so excited. I have February Angel ready to go and hope to finish March Angel this weekend at the latest by Thursday.

It is finally here. Yesterday Jayna spent the morning packing up "Rebekkah", the first canvas in "The Elegant Thanksgiving" series and I shipped them. out. Those of you who signed up will be receiving them by UPS any day:

Happy Sunday Morning. It is absolutely beautiful in Austin today. The highs are supposed to be in the sixties and there is not a cloud in the sky,

I managed to get out for my run this morning so I don't feel guilty for sitting inside stitching and watching football. I am not sure what game I will watch since the Saints game is not televised in our area.

First thing yesterday morning one our youngest stitchers came in with her Daddy to pick up her first finished piece. Congratulations Caroline you did a great job! We can't wait to see your second piece when you get it done.

 

We have all said it.....

"there is just not enough time to do or stitch everything". I am busy working on the Angels for next year and February is coming along nicely. I am not usually and huge fan of beading because it can be so tedious, but I am loving her garland. You can sign up throught the website.

Halloween is definitely in the air around here. Michele Burger just got her Halloweenie Series back from the finisher and they are spectacular. She had them finished with a easel back and I really love it.

Today I was in Michaels looking something and was so disappointed to see Christmas decor out. Please people. Can't they at least wait until after Halloween. I have the same complaint every year and it never changes, so I my as well stop whining. Rest assured, the outdoor lights and Christmas Music will not show up until after Thanksgiving at The Needle Works

Look how fun this is. If you love to play cards and want to make it a learning experience, pick up a deck of this wonderful deck of cards. Each card has a decorative stitch on it. This would make a great stocking stuffer.

I did make some time last week to go fishing. I headed to the Fall River Valley west of Tahoe in California for some catch and release Trout fishing. It was wonderful. Cool weather and a little rain.

Meant to post

I had every intention of posting on Sunday evening but got a little distracted.

After finishing the January Angel, I had settled in to start the February Angel. I had gone and run a couple of errands on Sunday morning(thank goodness) and was enjoying my Sunday afternoon when my ohone rang and it was my neighbor Jamie. Very excited she immediately said "this is no joke. There is a fire in the neighborhood and need to get ready to be evacuated". OMG...what do you grab? What do you do? I ran next door to tell my neighbor and then proceeded to load up the cats in the carrier. Medici in his and Rhett, Cassie and Brooke in theirs. It was 105 outside so I did not but them in the car just yet. I threw some cloths in a bag, grabbed the computers and ipad and then started taking down Moms paintings and family pictures.(Oh, I did grab my flyrods).

Had I waited to run errands to later in the day I would have not been able to get in to get the cats.

I started to load the car and was watching and waiting to see what the other neighbors where going to do. Passed through the house a couple of times grabbing more pictures, my jewelry, insurance policies, etc.

I then called my friend LaQuieta and told her what was going on and headed out. It normally takes 30 minutes to get to her house but it took about an hour which considering Steiner Ranch has 4000 homes and EVERYONE was ordered to evacuate, that is not bad.

Along the way I talked to my friend Penny whose Dad was house sitting for his son in Steiner. He had no where to go so he joined me at LaQuieta's with his sons 2 very elderly labs.

LaQuieta and Barry are saints.

Yesterday was spent on Facebook watching the neighborhood page with updates.

We where finally allowed back in the neighborhood at noon today. My section was fine but there are at least 50 homes damaged or destroyed.

This community is amazing! Everyone is being so supportive of those who have ost everything, WOW!

We are not the only fire in the area, There is another about 40 minutes away in Spicewood and then the Mother of all fires in Bastrop that is 30 miles long and 20 miles wide. It has burned over 30,000 acres and 0% contained. Over 600 homes lost and 2 fatalities. Texas really needs the rain, Please pray that we get some relief,

I will post about needlepoint later.

I left the cats at LaQuieta's becuase the fire is only 45% contained and if I needed to leave again I didn't want to put them under that stress, I also left what paintings I had grapped at her house so if need be I can load more stuff in my car, It is going to be a long night, Luckily the winds did not flair up today and they were able to get on top of it but we could always have a flair up.

ANG Seminar visit to the store

On Wednesday we hired a bus to being ladies up from the ANG Seminar to visit the store. Jane Williams (Stitching up a storm in San Antonio) was kind enough to play hostess on the bus. They rolled in about 11 a.m..

I know we had a good time meeting everyone. I hope they enjoyed themselves also.

Thursday night Jayna and I went down to San Antonio for the expo night. We went through the Exhibit to see all the gorgeous pieces that had been entered. Congratulations to all the winners! We were thrilled to recognize so many customers as winners. Amy Bunger also won a ribbon for her Halloweenie series. Congrats my freind!

Petite Silk Lame

How exciting! John from Rainbow Gallery has brought out another Silk Lame size. Petite Lame is going to be so versatile. He has started out with 26 basic colors that are just perfect. I will have to incorporate them into something I stitch this week. We have them in the store now, so you can order now. They are $3.15 a card and has 20 yards on a card.

 

 

 

Kelly has designed 2 Firecrackers for us in celebration of the ANG coming to Texas (San Antonio) next week. I stitched the Yellow Rose and Marsha Bustos was kind enough to stitch the Bluebonnets for us. I am ordering more to stitch and put in a collection because I think they turned out so cute. They will be available kitted next week in time for the seminar.  The kits will be $42.00 plus threads. We used the same threads for both, so if you want to do both one of each will do except for the blue.

Eleonore has almost finished another fish

and this one is really\flashy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I can't wait to see it on out reef that we are clipping the fish too. I have to go get a bigger reef for the rest but I think my idea is actually going to work.
